Starting on April 15th, Billl and Greer decide to say goodbye to their 5 year long tenant, repaint, recarpet and rekitchen the cottage.  Well, as things came apart we decided to reside, redeck, rewire, replumb and partially refloor.

We found uncounted treasures and spent many long nights with saw, hammer and paintbrush.  We are eternally grateful to our neighborhood carpenter Doug Rogers, our new plumber Jason and other friends and local specialists who helped us through the job.

Not unusual for Durango cottages, our was made of many layers of siding, including a treasure trove of newspapers from 1926.

 

The old tenant Pete helped with Demo.  You can see his Beverly Hillbillies truck here as he still hasn't completely moved out.

 

The cedar shingles give a glimpse of what the cottage may have looked like in 1926.
